It’s sad that the official Writers Guild of America strike videos — the neverending, one-note, generally missing-the-issues Speechless series — have so much less impact that the YouTube videos thrown together by random individuals and groups of writers. The Speechless series has stars (and “stars”) proving that actors have nothing to say without writers, and proving that the WGA thinks we’ll watch anything just because it has a celebrity in it.
So The Late Show writers have their own rebuttal:
didn’t think the wga made them, thought it was a sag iniatiive.
either way, i agree with you, they’re not very effective.
the daily show one, and the colbert one and of course the office one were great and actually explained the strike but were funny (imo) too.
i’m glad the late show writers did the one with gilbert gottfried.
